Still shots

This shot took by our group is to fit the genre of teen romance. It is a wide shot. This shows the surroundings and the three main characters. It helps to put a lot of attention on each character within the shot. The entire body of each character can be seen, helping to show and give off information as to what's happening in the scene. For example it is clear that the character on the bench is feeling left out, awkward and upset. You can also see the other two characters engaging.

Mise en scene:

Costume: The outfits of each character can be seen clearly. The male character is wearing a long black coat and has the collar up, he is wearing all black. This makes him look mysterious and like the popular guy that all the girls want. The blonde female character is also wearing all black and a figure hugging jacket. The jacket and trousers are tight to show her flirting and trying to impress the male character. Wearing all black represents her character and she is a nasty character. The black represents her dark evil side. Lastly the female character sitting on the bench is wearing everyday typical teenage clothing. A leather jacket and jeans. She is also wearing all black. This represents her shyness and personality; how she doesn't want to be noticed.
Lighting: The lighting is natural daylight. However we tried to find the lightest possible area. The light represents the romance within the film and the genre. It shows a light and happy mood. The colour of the clothing contrasts with this by representing the darker side of the film whilst the bright background represents the happy love theme.
Actors: Our shot consists of three main characters, one male and two females. This helps with the teen romance genre as its a typical thing for two girls to fight over a boy.
Make-up: The characters faces aren't seen so well within the shot, however we chose to have the make-up natural and how teens would normally wear it and look. We just had natural make up to fit the image of a normal teenager.
Props: We had two props. These were a phone and glasses. The use of the glasses were to emphasis the female character on the bench. This highlighted her insecurities and shyness. Could also suggest that she is very quite as the typical 'geek' usually wears glasses in a teen romance film.
Setting: We chose this setting as it had a lot of green pretty surroundings, relating to the theme and genre of love. Also because its quite and not busy so could show the relations from character to character well.
