Behind the scenes footage

This video contains short clips which didnt make it into our final peice, reason being because of the expected length of 3 minutes. A specific clip in this video was actually a whole scene that we decided to cut as we felt it looked old fashioned and out of conext compared to the film itself. It also shows us working together in the proccess of creating our opening.

Production Logo - Development

This video shows the progression of our production logo. Our first idea was to create a stop motion logo which we created using an APP from one of our iphones. We thought it was a fun idea and a different style to what other peer members were doing. When looking at th efinished piece we found that it looked unprofessional and the background of the school didnt match well. I think this refelcted the lack of planning we had put into creating the production logo. Realising the importance of the logo and how it would refelct on first impressions of our opening, we decided to use 'Adobe After Affects' software. However to do this we needed to get to know the software better, therefore we asked a peer member who knew it well to show us the basic steps in using the software, we also watched several tutorials on how to create a logo using the specific software. After creating a basic logo on after effects we then went on to create our third and final logo. This was our most complex and professional looking logo, we think it reflects young quirkness (relating to our audience) with the glowing effect we used. We also decided to go back to th ename "G.E.L" as it was shorter and more memerable.

Analysing romance film openings

The Holiday

The holiday starts with a mid shot of a happy couple kissing, which we after realise is a movie clip, this shot shows a content relationship which we compare to the main characters we see after who are not happily in love. The second shot also does this as its another couple that are in the movie, this gives us the contrast again, a lot of close up are used to emphasise the emotive looks there are giving each other. As it goes into the second characters who are not in a happy relationship they again use close up to show the lack on emotion or love you see from them. After this it shows the setting of the film with a long shot this shows us where it is and sets the scene, also as its a typical place the people seem normal and we can relate to them. They also show each main character in the opening so we get to recognize them and they are established well.

   The sound in this opening is slow music in the background at the beginning very peaceful and calming, the transitions mimic the sound being slow and peaceful from shot to shot. But as it goes into the second characters who are not in a happy relationship the music becomes more fast paced and bouncy showing the contrast from their lives to the happy peaceful bliss of being in love. And goes back into the peaceful music when showing people in love. Other sounds used are a voice over of one of the characters talking, the person talking directly to audience making us feeling part of the film discussing their feelings with us which us feel like we know the person, and leaves an enigma of us wanting to get to know her more. She is talking about love and feelings towards men, signifying the genre straight away. As the clip continues she talks about her problems making us feel sympathy for her, and wanting us to continue watching to see how these become resolved. The voice over also links up to what is happening in the clip making it become very narrative and as if she is telling the story.

   Lighting varies to fit the scene and setting of each clip, this keeps it realistic and so you can relate to it, the props clothing and make-up are also like this. This is essential as when it's realistic you can put yourself in the shoes of the characters becoming more attached to the film.

 There are many parts of this film I think I would incorporate into my own opening. I like the way the music mimics the pace of the transitions and also the mood of the piece, as my movie will start upbeat then turn sad I think we could use this really effectively there. Also the close-up shots to shows emotion would show the love well in our piece and finally keeping everything realistic is essential.

The Spectacular Now

 

-The opening begins with the wide shot of a boy sitting in front of a computer screen with a beer, he appears to look quite distressed, we then find out that he's writing a section of his personal statement about hardships that he has overcome, meaning his expressions is suited for why he is writing. It cuts to a montage of his hardship that he has overcome and it shows a variety of emotions throughout the montage but none of them are the same as the one he is showing when he is writing about it, showing a very strong contrast and putting an emphasis on how much of a hardship it was for him. 

-The lighting for the opening changes throughout allowing a clear difference in scenes and keeping the scenes realistic for the audience. However, most of the scenes use quite dark lighting which could foreshadow his feelings towards particular aspects within the opening such as his previous girlfriend, which relates to this being quite a typical romance film. 

-The actors appear to be in their teenage years, this is indicated to us through the very first shot in which he is writing a personal statement which often has relations to college or university applications, therefore, it suggests to the audience that he is going through the process of finishing school and moving on to further education. Following on from this scene, the setting changes to a party with other actors of similar ages and further on changes setting again to a school which finally shows the audience that this film is in fact a teenage romance.

-There is a variety of sound used throughout the opening, it begins with a voice over from who the audience assumes is the main character, due to him being introduced first, we then realise the main character is called Sutter Keely. Sutter begins to write a personal statement about his hardships and discusses his girlfriend and refers to her as his best, this then follows with clips of their relationship and a light upbeat song comes on which could possibly reflect the emotions within the relationship however due to the voice over we know they have broken up therefore, the music goes against the relationship as we know it. 

-When creating our opening this will help as we will be able to follow the typical shots and editing in which they've used for the romantic opening. The opening also uses a voice over to almost narrate or give the audience a main idea on what has happened so they're not confused on the situation at hand and we may need to do this also due to our opening being done throughout time so the audience will know the basic idea of what is going on.


Grease

-We are creating a montage of a couple for our opening and within the opening of 'Grease' it shows a short montage of what could be a day or possibly weeks, it doesn't seem as if it has been a very long time. The shots are mostly extreme long shots or mid shots, this allows the audience to see both their expressions and what they're doing. They appear to be doing very typical and loving things whilst they're on the beach and are not being serious with each other and almost play fighting with each other, this allows the audience to see that their relationship is not very serious. 

-Throughout the opening the sun is setting so there is lots of reds and gold's which keeps a romantic theme throughout and also adds more elements of romance to the scenes, all allowing us to establish which genre the film is which my group and I should hopefully be able to recreate. 

-Both of the actors are alone on a beach which almost makes them seem as if they're outcasts from the rest of the world, by the camera only showing them it could show how they both only care about each other and this is emphasised through them being literally the only people on the beach. They both appear to be very fond of each other and doing a variety of things on the beach together and their body language and facial expressions both appear to be very positive, however this changes when the bad news is given to 'Danny'.

-The sound used throughout the opening could be seen to be either happy or sad, foreshadowing the feelings of both of the characters, due to the them finding out that Sandy, the female lead, has only been on vacation and doesn't live there, therefore making them both feel sadness towards the situation as they're not being separated whereas throughout the opening they've been inseparable. There is also foley used to help exaggerate the sound of the waves crashing on the beach shore, making them seems more powerful, this is used strongly when they're sitting and it crashes all over the couple. 

-This will help us with our opening as we've now been able to see the use of foley and what they used it for and its part within the scene. We creating our own openings we may have to use foley so this has helped us see the impact in which it can play on an opening or even a short part, allowing the audience to be drawn in and the sound almost becoming focal for the shot. 

 

 

 

 

500) Days of Summer

                                                           

-It starts off with an animation of what appears a summery day with all the trees in blossom creating a happy start for the audience and it shows the (500) Days of Summer and then begins the rest of the opening. Throughout the opening it shows both characters as adults in their current position and a clip in their teenage years. By showing us this we feel a connection between us and the characters, already making the audience feel as if they know these characters on a personal level and can feel their emotions too. It begins with Tom who we assume is the main character within the film and he’s sitting within an office and appears to be in a meeting of some sort. He is dresses quite formally but himself is quite scruffy with his hair and his appearance, this could suggest he is at loss with something or quite a dis-organised person. When it moves to his teenage section, Tom looks as if he is depressed, he is wearing all black and his outward body language is very negative and appears quite frequently. When Summer’s montage comes on she starts off in an office where she’s wearing quite smart clothing however, they’re still very feminine so the audience can assume that she is a very girly girl. The expression and body language that she upholds is very positive and as the audience we like that as she seems to be very happy which appears to be the complete opposite of what Tom’s facial expression is which could foreshadow a change within his facial expression.  When it moves to her teenage years, her expression changes however, her clothing doesn't appear too different from her current state just a little less formal. The shot doesn't not change throughout but we can an over the shoulder shot of Summer looking as herself in the mirror, she looks as if she is sad when she is brushing her hair, shortly after we see her brushing her hair we see her cut it and just hold it in her hand as if she’s nothing, possibly making a change for herself. We then move back to credits Tom where he looks as if he’s bored within his meeting and the camera spins around fast and swoops down to Summer where she is walking through the office, due to this shot the audience are able to make assumptions on how/what will happen when they meet but we know for certain that they meet due to the fact they’re working in the same building together. After this there a few more seconds of Summer walking through the office and it straight cuts to quite upbeat music and a black screen where the titles appear.
-Most of angles within the opening shot are a variety of mid shots or wide shots; by using these type of shots we're able to see the full relationships between both of the main characters. By using a wide shot it allows the audience to view both of the main characters who appear to have very different outward emotions, whereas Summer appears that she is quite happy, Tom is the complete opposite and seems depressed and bored with his life. When showing us both of the characters it’s a wide shots, which allows the audience to see the surroundings in which they're in which may give us an idea to the type people that they are. The opening includes a variety of shots, some are straight cut which is very unusual for a romantic comedy and may be use other effects such as a fade which could convey and bring emotion to the opening or the rest of the movie. It also includes effects which make the shots seem as if they're blending in to each other, by doing this it makes if flow together making it almost easier for the audience to view it.
-The song used is for the opening is 'A Story of Boy Meets Girl - Mychael Danna and Rob Simonsen' this contains both a light backing track that could be interpreted as either happy or sad which could foreshadow the characters relationship, making it almost an enigma for the audience. The song also contains a voice over which is quite harsh over the soft sounding music which is playing as he talks. The voice over starts with 'this is a story of boy meets girl' which already establishes for the audience what the genre of the film is going to be but after the narrator gives us some background on both of the main characters Tom and Summer. After is discusses their lives it repeats the line 'this is a story of boy meets girl' however it follows with 'but you should know upfront, this is not a love story.' which almost makes the movie seem a little less romantic.
-The lighting uses a variation as they're in many different places throughout the opening scene due to the fact it is a montage of their lives apart and then their life together in a relationship. Most of the shots used are quite bright which will allow the audience to guess that this is quite a happy relationship opposed to using dark lighting which would lead the audience to believe that the relationship between Tom and Summer is quite depressing which may lead to the audience not believing that the couple don't work together almost.
-When creating our opening this will help incredibly as we will be able to follow the typical shots and editing in which they've used. They also use very warm lighting throughout the shots of Tom and Summer which will help when we're creating the lighting on our 'couple' because we're ensuring that the couple appear to move throughout time to show the length of their relationship. We're also going to in a quite a dull and depressing scene to the end of our opening where the girlfriend is crying due to the loss of her boyfriend, which links to the teenage years in the opening of (500) Days Of Summer, by doing this the audience will also know that the film may possibly be a tragedy. In (500) Days Of Summer, the opening uses a voice over to almost narrate or give the audience a main idea on what has happened so they're not confused on the situation at hand and the fact they've not actually met each other yet. The voice over also shows their view on love and how Tom believes in true love and believes that there is a 'one' for him and when he sees Summer, the voice over indicates to us that he thinks she is the one.  

 

 

The Vow 

                                                               

 

 

-During the opening scene of 'The Vow' both characters are wearing warm clothing, coats, hats and scarf’s. The female character is wearing a red coat. The colour red is significant to the romance genre as red has connotations of love and passion. The clothing in which we associate with winter makes the whole scene seem more warm and comfortable, portraying their relationship and comfort with each other. It also indicates the season and month in which it is set, which ties in with the falling snow in the background and the autumnal leaves in which have fallen.
-The lighting sets a warm mood at the beginning of the scene as there are lots of pretty, warm lights around the setting, by using orange and red lights set a warm romantic vibe. Both of the characters are on a date and you can tell this is a date due to the chemistry between them and how they act towards each other. 
Both female and male characters are attractive which is common in love films. The female character is played by Rachel Mcadams and male character played by Channing Tatum. The entire opening focuses on these two characters. This puts attention on their relationship and getting to know them in the first few minutes of the film. All romance films consist of a male and female character.
-No props were used. This could be to focus more on the dialogue and relationship in the scene.
-The setting of the opening scene is important. It is set at the movies, this is a place where we'd assume to see a couple on a date. The movie theatre is surrounded with pretty lights and warm colours. This sets a romantic atmosphere  It is autumn winter, there are leaves on the ground and snow is falling. All these factors add to the theme and genre of romance.
-The camera starts at the top of the movie theatre and comes down at an angle across the characters and into a wide shot in front of the characters. This helps to see the background and you can then tell clearly that they are a couple by their body language and the way they are standing together linking arms. The second shot is an establishing shot. In this shot we establish the setting and surroundings. When they get into the car an over the shoulder two shot has been used. This shows there relationship further and links in with the genre. As the car pulls away a long/wide shot is used to again show the settings and surrounds of the area. From then on over the shoulder shots from character to character are used. This shows a conversation between the characters. It also able's you to focus a lot more on there faces and facial expressions, seeing the way they look at each other. Another wide shot is used to show the car stopping at a stop sign. By showing the stop sign makes us audience members more sympathetic towards both characters when the crash happens because they have done nothing wrong. A mid shot is used to show the couple kissing. This is effective as you can see the truck lights coming and how the characters are so oblivious towards it.
-At the beginning of the opening there is a peaceful music playing. This sets the scene by adding to the surrounding of snow and pretty lights. All together this adds to the romance genre by creating a romantic atmosphere. -The colour red is included a lot in this scene and is very significant to the romance genre. The first thing we see in the opening is a red light above the theatre  This automatically makes us think of love and the colour red symbolises love and romance. The second piece of red we see is the female characters coat. After this we see many other red lights. This is putting a constant theme of love in our minds. Throughout the scene the two characters are being intimate with each other, this showing they are in a relationship. They are laughing, kissing and doing typical couple things, for example going to the movies and listening to a favourite song in the car while messing around. This makes it clear they are in a relationship and therefore links in with the romance genre.

The main title sequence or the opening credits of a movie can be considered the most important part in a film. Other than trailers and other advertising elements, they are the first images the audience see just before the movie starts. These quick clips outline the film-makers intentions and set up the expectations of those watching.

Through out the title sequence opening the Pink Panther song is playing. Along with the Pink Panther character doing silly things to the writing this seems to us that the film will be a comedy. This sound gives off a light but mysterious mood. The music makes it seem like a comedy and a light hearted film but the way the drawn character is messing around with the words suggests that we don't really know what's going on or the truth. The text is all in capitals so therefore stands out to the audience. By all words being written in capitals makes us think something big happens that we cant afford to miss. The colour throughout the title sequence is different shades of pink mostly. This relates to the name of the film.

The typography elements stand out to us as all words are written in capitals. This makes us watch closely, suggesting we need to do the same through out the film. This therefore reveals a theme of mystery. The theme of crime and investigation is brought to attention when the character within the title sequence is constantly rearranging the letters of words. This makes him seem like a criminal. Also when and gun a magnifying class are used as props. The sound suggests mystery and someone trying to solve a crime, this ties in with the themes of crime and investigation.

Throughout the duration of the opening sequence a relaxing, happy mood is created by the simple white titles and slow scenes. The sound is placed in the middle of the opening, this adds excitement and goes well with the happy mood already set. This sequence was not in the choice listing. However I chose to analyse it as it relates to the genre of my film opening. I though it would be good to analyse one of the same genre to get to know it better.


7. What does the use of Typography Elements (text), Visual Imagery/Sound Elements in the chosen film Title Sequence suggest about the theme/content of the film?

The opening scene is quite casual, with little going on and light music. this goes well as it then doesn't take away from the big event waiting to happen. The text is just plain white which could represent how the main female character looses her memory, her mind goes blank. Some names are written in capital letters, this stands out to us as important information. The genre off romance is shown when some titles are placed between both characters and are specifically placed when the two are doing couple like activities. Sound is incorporated when the couple are in the car together. They sing to one another. By placing this here it allows us to see the couple together as one, revealing the theme of love.

Sweeny Tod :

I decided to use Sweeney Todd to analyse. The of typography elements used play a big part in the title sequence. The first set of titles we see are white. This colour stands out well as the background colours are very dark and dull. All the writing is in capital letters, this is striking and out of the ordinary. This relates to the film and genre as a whole because the story line is extra ordinary, something we wouldn't expect. At the very beginning of the sequence we first see rain falling from the sky. Within this we see blood drop every so often. This immediately signals to us that the film contains violence and also reveals the theme of death at the same time. We see that blood is incorporated when a title appears. In the middle of the sequence the title is shown in all red. This signifies that this is a main title we need to pay attention to. The overall colours to the sequence bring a sinister mood to the piece as a we associate the colour red with blood and death. At first the sound track seems to be innocent and child like, however along with the visual elements it turns to be like a twisted nursery tune. After we see the title the music becomes medieval-like and starts to build up along with the visual effects as we see more gory images. This creates an unsettling atmosphere. 

Batman:

All typography elements are written in the colour yellow. This relates to the costume of the main character, Batman. They are also written in capital letter, standing out as important information.

 However the most important titles, such as cast names, are in larger fonts as opposed to  the less important words. The main title 'BATMAN' is in a much larger font compared to all other titles. This is because it is the title wanted to stand out to the audience the most. The visual elements are all dark, brining the theme of mystery to attention. As the background is unclear we don't have a huge clue to what is really going on, therefore we again see the theme of mystery and also crime. The soundtrack throughout adds to the theme of mystery, starting out slow and deep, it almost puts you on edge as some parts of the sound elements are jumpy. Once we see the main title, Batman, the music changes to a much faster pace which reveals the theme of action. The music becomes a typical action hero theme tune.

9. What does the use of Typography Elements (text), Visual Imagery/Sound Elements in the chosen film Title Sequence suggest about the theme/content of the film?

In  the Sweeney Todd title sequence the typography, visual and sound elements all suggest things about the genre of the film. The colours relate to blood and death which suggest the film is a horror. The sound elements throughout put us on edge which suggests to us that we may feel like this at point during the film. The medieval-like music tells us that the film may be set in passed times.

10. What does Richard Morrison explain about the Film Title Sequence?

Richard Morrison says "Animating blood and its movement became the most crucial and challenging element of the sequence. we had to build special platforms within which we imitated blood movement and filmed it. And we had to give it this comical feel, which worked really well. That was a dream project. We would love to work on something similar."

In the Batman title sequence again typography, visual and sound elements are all used to suggest the genre and clues about the film itself. Throughout the sequence the visual elements are very dark, it is hard to make out what is actually being shown on the screen. This suggests a  main theme of mystery as we cant actually see the whole picture. This further suggests that we will need to pay close attention to the story line. The soundtrack is fascinating which tells us we will see something we don't see in everyday life. Finally the text is very bold and striking suggesting the genre of action during the film. Richard Morrison says "The Batman 1989 environment was not that homogenized. In fact, there weren't many people on the same platform and we were all very individual. Tim and I walked around the set of Gotham city. And that was it, really.I clearly remember I sat back in the car and all of a sudden, I knew it. I knew it has to be something about the classic Batman comic logo. So that was the idea and then I just invented the world around it. Nobody did anything like it before so that's why it probably retained its timeless feel." Saying that 'Nobody did anything like it before' tells us that Morrison did find the sequence successful as it was something never seen before and it also didn't become boring.

Script Analysis

 

Before starting the process of filming our opening we felt that analysing the 'Runaway Bride' script as it took part in the romance genre would be helpful when creating our own. It put to practise of the terminology that we had learnt in lesson which would help when constructing our script, meaning that we would put terminology in the correct place and it would make sense. By looking at 'Runaway Bride' it helped us also understand the conventions of a romance film and some of the elements that we could possibly reflect and put it into our own.

 

Terminology Action: Its also known as 'business' or 'description' and shows what we see on the screen in the most visual way possible
Scene headings: Tells the readers where the scene takes place, in other words, where are the actors standing? where is the character placed?
- INT. means "interior." EXT. means "exterior."
Character name: Indication to the actor to start their dialogue
Extension: Technical indication about the character's dialogue, placed to the right of the character's name
Dialogue: The characters speech which conveys information and moves the story forward, while at the same time helps us understand the characters
Dual-Dialogue: When two characters speak simultaneously and their dialogue is placed side by side on the the page
Parentheticals: Direction to the actor on how to read the dialogue
Transitions: Cut to/fade to/pan to/fade out/wipe to/dissolve to/pull back to reveal

We have created a mood board with pictures that inspire us for the romance genre, props that we would use, shots that we could consider re creating and costumes and make-up we would like to use. The mood board has given us a place to process all our ideas and to give us a feel for the atmosphere we want for our opening.

Film opening - Storyboard

Developing a storyboard really help us as a group plan out what our final piece should look like. It allowed us to break down everything shot by shot, therefore allowing us to gte our filom done quicly and efficiently, avoiding as much difficuilties as possible. However after doing research into titles and their placement within film openings we had to rearrange all the scenes as we already had titles incoporated into our shots. It originally began with the picnic scene showing the title of the director, however we felt that the 'star' characters should be established first along with the genre. Therefore we decided to open with the texting scene, revealing the characters names and their relationship due to the words 'I love you'. From this we changed our storyboard completely as we felt they didn't quite blend well enough so we changed our next scene to meeting scene opposed to the birthday scene as we felt it was too soon to bring this in, otherwise the storyline might confuse the audience.

You've got mail and The Notebook Timeline

For research me and my group looked at similar openings with the smae genre as our own. we looked at what titles were included where they appeared in the line up. this gave us an idea of what titles we needed to include and where in the opening we needed to place them.  

 

Possible Mise en Scene

Hair styles:

Our females hair styles will vary throughout the piece to show the duration of time passing. Shown below are possible hair styles we could use. The two hair styles below are feminine and girly, which is how we would like to portray our female character. These two specific hair styles are stereotypical for teenagers, both quick and easy.




Props:

Shown below are two props we aim to use within our piece. We want to use an iPhone to relate to our audience, iPhones are very popular amongst teenagers, our target audience. This should make some scenes relatable to them. Another prop we aim to use is chocolates, this is stereotypical in romance films and on Valentines Day for a man to give chocolates to a women. Therefore if we include this prop it could help in making our genre clearer.

        

 

Setting:

 

 

 

 

 

The first two pictures were of the bedroom we used, this room fitted a typical teenage girls room. It already had some red props in it, but we decided to add some more props such as red heart lights and a red cushion to make it seem more romantic and fit the conventions of a romance.

 

 

 

The second location was a living room area which they would dance in. We wanted it to be a living room to match our story board and also this room had the most space for the dancing and to the people shooting in it too.

 

 

This is our final location we used inside the house, we used a bathroom for the teeth brushing scene which is obviously logical as that's where you brush your teeth, the bathroom worked best as it was an easy view of the mirror to get the lipstick shot after.

 

 

The kitchen location was for the birthday cake, we decided a kitchen had the right height surface to bend over and blow the candles out and enough room for us still to get the shot.

 

Costume:

 

 

This is for the female character when they're brushing their teeth in the mirror, we chose this outfit as it was casual and reflected her comfort around the male character and showing that they were in a relationship with each other. It was also a very similar outfit for the male character showing their lounge wear and reflecting the lack of effort for their outfits within their house.

                             

We made the male character dress quite formally as if they were on a date, especially as he brings her chocolate in the scene which is typical for men to do for women on dates. The female in this scene is wearing quite feminine clothes and as we didn't have a red scarf that she could use to represent the genre of romance so we used pink which is quite a pretty girly colour and also has connotations of compassion, nurturing and love.

 

 

In this scene we wanted both of the characters to be quite casual however quite comfortable so we decided for our male just to be wearing chinos and a black jumper which is a standard and everyday outfit for a teenage boy. The female character on the other hand is wearing a black skater skirt and a black jumper, with a white collar underneath to make it seem more dressy and this is also shown through her jewellery. We still incorporated an element of red to keep the romance theme constant throughout however, it was more subtle this time with her wearing red frilly socks, showing romance and femininity.

We felt this would be quite a autumn/winter scene so we decided that the characters should be wearing thick/warm clothes reflecting the season and the time passing throughout our montage. Our female character would be wearing quite dark plain clothes, a big winter coat and a wool scarf which would give emphasis to the winter season they're in however, we incorporated some red into the scene which has connotations of love and passion, therefore, our female character would be wearing red lipstick and a subtle red nail varnish. Also the male would be wearing a quite bright red tie which contrasts against his black shirt and black coat, again emphasising the season they are in.

 

 

This is the outfit we chose for our female character when she is at the hospital, we felt a more casual outfit would be suitable as she would be feeling a lot of fear for her boyfriends life therefore, we felt she should be wearing no make-up and a scruffy outfit. From the idea we chose a simple checked flannel shirt and some black leggings and boots showing her lack of care and putting more focus of her boyfriend who is fighting for his life.

Hazard	Risk level before: High, Medium or Low	Control Measures:	Risk level after: High, Medium or Low
Trip hazard on wires or props on the floor	Medium as you may fall and hurt yourself but will not be life threatening.	Keep all items out of the way and make sure everyone participating is aware of anything that is left around.	When filming this was a low risk as we ensured that we moved all harmful objects before we brought equipment, actors or camera people to the location.
Fire from the candles on birthday cake	High as the clothing or surroundings could set on fire and could be lethal.	Keep all clothing away from fire and make everyone around aware also don’t use the fires until it is needed.	This was still a high risk during filming but we ensured our actors understood the risk and they stayed away keeps clothing hair away so it became low risk and no hazard happened.
Mirror breaking	Low as the mirror is not likely to break	Make sure the mirror is sturdy and that the actors are a certain distance away.	This showed us no risk during filming as the mirror was sturdy and we was all a reasonable distance away from it.
Cutlery with breakfast	Low as they could stab themselves but would not be life threatening	Make sure the cutlery is held appropriately and not left anyway unhanded without crew being aware.	We did not end up shooting this shot.
Walking up the stairs to get to certain rooms to shoot in	Low as most people can walk up the stairs safely	Make sure everyone walks safely up and down the stairs at a solid pace	This caused us low/no risk as the actors and crew could easily walk up and down the stairs.
Chocking on food	Medium as if they choked it could be fatal	Make sure each person eats properly.	This was still medium risk but we ensured our actors eat properly so there was no risk.
Electrocute	High as it could be life threatening	Keep all electricity away from water and put into sockets securely.	There was no water near the plugs so the risk was reduced.
